Mario's Galactic Adventure Preview Debuts, Introducing New Characters Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Actors
The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination released the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. The reveal happened in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that centered on the forthcoming animated feature.
The sequel to the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will send Mario to the distant reaches of the galaxy. There, he will encounter a new princess and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
A Cosmic Adventure Drawing from Beloved Titles
In the vein of the Wii-era games that act as its source material, Mario will venture away from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. During his grand adventure, he will meet again some well-known personalities, such as the Luma, a popular character from the first movie.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who reportedly utilizes powers related to metal. Worth mentioning, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not exclusively centered on Galaxy-inspired imagery; it also includes nods to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Reprise Roles and Welcome Newcomers
The film will welcome back of the original voice cast, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to embody Bowser Jr. It was announced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.

Mario's latest cinematic adventure is planned to debut near the four-decade milestone of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. In addition to the movie, 2026 promises to be a important time for Mario and his friends.
Nintendo confirmed a trio of new releases publicly declared for 2026, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is planned for launch on April 3, 2026.
